Tease and Spin, Hand Spinning Wool Workshops, Edale, Peak District

This inspirational rural micro-business is run by my dear and very talented friend, Rosie.

Tease and Spin is situated in a traditional cottage in the heart of the Edale Valley in the beautiful English Peak District. The village is well known to walkers as the start of the popular Pennine Way trail and as an access point onto Kinder Scout, scene of the historic Mass Trespass in 1932.

Tease and Spin is dedicated to ensuring that traditional skills, such as the hand spinning and dyeing of wool, are not lost. Demand for cheap, mass produced goods has forced a decline in these skills in recent years. There is now a resurgence of interest, as the quality and uniqueness of handcrafted goods is being recognised.

Tease and Spin promotes the use of local resources, such as wool from local Whitefaced Woodland sheep.

Tease and Spin is available for workshops either for individuals or small groups, and for demonstrations at your event or meeting. Gift vouchers are also available for that extra special gift with a difference.

A two hour introductory session can be booked at a time to suit you, for the special price of only £25. All materials will be provided.

Tease and Spin offers an activity that can be enjoyed by all ages and abilities. Rosie enjoys working with people with learning difficulties as she finds they get a tremendous amount from the tactile nature of the activity and is happy to run workshops or demonstrations at events and fayres.
