Rowland Rees Lampwork Beads and Wooden Bowls

I would like to introduce multi-talented craftsperson, Rowland Rees, from Llanelli, Wales.

Rowland is one of my customers, who first came to my attention when he was looking for items to make jewellery with his gorgeous hand-crafted lampworked beads.
As we were chatting, I discovered that jewellery was a new venture for him, and that he and his wife, Pat, were making jewellery with his lampworked beads, in order to raise funds for a cause dear to their hearts, which is
The Llanelli branch of Cancer Research UK/Cymru.

Rowland explained to me that Pat received excellent care and support from their local unit when being treated for Breast Cancer, and how grateful they both were for it. They want to help the unit raise much needed funds to extend the work that they can do to help others in the same situation, and thought that the jewellery might be a good way of doing this.

Rowland has been making lampworked beads for a number of years and says that he is still practising, but is hooked now! Like many crafters, Rowlands creative interests are many and varied, and I was thrilled when he showed the stunning wooden bowls and creations that he makes. I have included a few pictures here of his magnificent work and stand it awe of his ability to bring out the best in a piece of wood.

His passion and enthusiasm for his work is infectious!
