Approximate numbers of beads needed for a Wire Snowflake Frame
This isn't an easy thing to guesstimate as it depends on what sized beads you use and if they are all the same size.
Because there are billions of beads out there, I can only give a rough guideline using beads of all one size, but I would encourage you always to start each spoke with a seed bead of size 8/0 or less ( 2.3mm diameter) so that your other beads, further up the spoke lie flat against each other rather than clumping up and skewing each other.
| Snowflake size | No. of 4mm beads per frame | No. of 6mm beads per frame | No. of 8mm beads per frame | No.of snowflakes per full pack |
| 3.75 inch | 135-140 | 90-95 | 68-74 | 8 |
| 4.5 inch | 162-167 | 114-119 | 86-92 | 7 |
| 6 inch | 216-220 | 144-149 | 108-114 | 6 |
| 9 inch | 324-328 | 324-329 | 162-167 | 4 |
| Seed beads size | 10/0 | 8/0 | 6/0 | 2/0 | 1/0 |
| diameter of bead | 2.1mm | 2.3mm | 4mm | 6mm | 6.5mm |
| approx no. of beads per bag | 4000(25g) | 3500(25g) | 700 (20g) | 84-88 ( 20g) | 80 (20g) |
